Place them on a moveable surface, however, and something very interesting (and very mesmerizing) happens:

I was rooting for the metronome in the second row, far right. It was resisting the urge to conform, until almost two thirds into the video.

Coincidentally, it was 180 degrees out of phase with all the others, for a while.
