That's awesome! I work in loss prevention for JC Penney back in the 90's (during college)...I did the same to a shoplifter with my radio and he had to have stitches! JCP put me on paid leave for a week...it was a nice vacation.
Some of those comments are pretty ignorant, good for the employee. Coke probably took the damaged scanner out of his paycheck.
