shooting .40 in a .45

no issues right? obviously I have to slow the bullet down, but other than that? I am leaning more to a .45 can for fun and round is already subsonic, and after shooting a mac-10 with a can, it just makes sense. I can also shoot anything smaller caliber through it without issue. Any user thoughts on this?

I've shot .40 through my 45 Osprey without any issues. Winchester Ranger 180 gr JHP is subsonic out of the box.
