Yep. I mainly reload for 16 and .410 because of the price savings. Also, 12ga 3" steel for the savings and better performance (can't get the load I want in factory made). In 20 ga, I load AA hulls to a 28ga skeet load (3/4 oz. @1200 fps), cost is about the same as .410 reloads and the grandkids get a very light recoil and awesome patterns that allow for more success the a .410.

Reloading standard 12 or 20 loads isn't going to save much, in heavier/specialty loads it will. I reload more because I enjoy it than because it saves money. I haven't really figured it down to the penny, but I suspect reloading costs me more because I shoot more.

depends on how much you shoot. we have it down to a little over 4 bucks a box buying in bulk and shooting reclaimed. might be a bit more with reclaimed going up. but i use gunclubs that are mainly range pickup once fired and they last 10 reloads running 16.7gr promo and 1oz loads. but we shoot a case a weekend.

I've also read on several sites that the cheaper rounds aren't all that good for reloading (Herter's, Estate), but the Remington Gun Club Target load hulls can be used 3 or 4 times.
Is that a reasonable assumption?
I appreciate the opinions, still undecided, but we're going through about 200 rds a week at the moment, all clay shooting. $6/box.

Started reloading back when I was shooting skeet, been using the same recipe for years. AA or Remington Premium, Clays and Windjammer wads, 8 fingers instead of 4. Use same loads quail hunting in western OK they have never failed. The Clays/Windjammer load also has less pressure when shooting lots of rounds.

PS: I also have a 20yr old son, as long a I feed him and buy the components he will pull the lever on that reloader all evening.

i reload the gunclubs around 10 times. i know a guy who tested his loads in the gunclub and was good to about 25. again this is a standard practice target load of 17grain reddot and 1 oz shot. i toss mine around 10 though. check ricks reloading and find out where he will be the next couple weeks and pick your self up components
