I wish. My laptop isn't a dog by any means, but I don't think it could handle this game, at least not at full specs. I prefer games like this on PC, but the more and more my laptop falls behind, I wish they'd make a console (PS3) version.
You? How is it? I used to be a Sim City addict, especially Sim Ant on SNES. I still play that on my emulator.
I have been debating purchasing it. I played the closed beta and enjoyed it. Just don't really like EA and find it hard to support their DRM model in this one, so i'm on the fence still.
Sim City is propaganda to get people to accept governmental central economic planning!!!
JK... the old ones were fun games. I spent many hours playing those back in 1994-1997 or thereabouts.
I joke, but I have to say, with my current convictions, I would feel a little dirty playing gov, imposing taxes on people, seizing private property, planning the economy, etc... I probably wouldn't get as big of a kick out of it as I did when I was an immature little kid who thought all that stuff was necessary. It would be a pretty boring game if I played it voluntarist style, lol! I bet the programming wouldn't allow a Houston... a whole city that grew without zoning or anything.
Man i remember in the 5th grade saving lunch money, allowance, and birthday money to buy The Sims expansion packs. I will have to check Sim City out for sure.

This, by far is my most serious complaint with the game, so much so that I haven't purchased it yet. As a technophile, I has a severe disagreement with requiring an Internet connection for a single player game. I already have to deal with it via the Assassin's Creed series, a "feature" I wasn't aware of when I picked them up en masse on Steam.
That said, the previews I saw looked really badass, and I've been a long term fan. I'm intending to stalk the game for awhile and see if they either drop the DRM, or the prices drops to the point I can swallow the hassle of it all.
