I recently bought a six digit Sks but it has a nylon stock. So no the numbers do not match. My friend has what I believe to be an sks-d but in the eight digit range. He is willing to trade. Is a numbers matching sks-d worth trading for a low serial number Sks from 1956 with plastic stock?

It was a designation given to a variant that had detachable magazine.

D model takes AK47 mags I believe. Would be the one I prefer just for that. Not a collector worrying about SN ranges particularly if original stock is long gone.

What stock are you talking about. Many stocks were swapped when imported.
if it is the fiberglass jungle stock, KEEP IT.
