SKS Scope recommendations

My co-worker's husband has a Russian SKS and she wants to get him a scope for it for his birthday. Budget is around $200 for scope and mount. I assume it would need some type of top cover mount. Also, I would guess that you would want a shorter scope so that you could still load the rifle via stripper clips. What are your recommendations? TIA

It does need to be hand fitted and the screws do mar the receiver; other designs "walk", or require drill and tap.

Since it's a Russian - I would leave it alone.
