I bumped into an old bullseye pistol shooter , and was telling him how I was able to buy a S & W model 52 .But I was down to my last 100 primers . He said let me look at home and see what I can dig up .He called and said he could sell me 2000 primers how does $40.00 sound . I said but John they are selling for $70.00 per 1000 if you can find them . He said ok how about $60.00 , I gave him $ 80.00 for 2000 we were both happy ....

Box is marked S & W Ammunition Company , a guy on S & W forum sold the empty boxes on eBay. I thought someone here might remember using them .

Yep, I bought some of them at the local Gibson's Discount store when I first started loading in the early 70's. Used a Lee hammer-type loading rig back then. Slow as molasses but cheap and worked. The Alcan primers worked fine.

Pretty close to my beginnings. Wish some of those old stores that carried reloading stuff still existed.
