I was listening to a pod cast reporting this by Airbnb customers, I just posted one incident but there’s many.

The guy in the states was a smoke dector installer and noticed 2 in the bedroom. The police found 8 .

Pretty sure the last one I stayed in had a fake smoke detector/camera thing. It was a Vegas casino condo unit in a large commercial building that had wired-in fire suppression equipment... and that's why the $8 on the wall detector seemed so out of place.

Just covered it with a towel during my stay. I figured the owner just uses it to prove fault when there's damage and isn't trying to spy on me.

I’m renting one now. I’m up in Michigan working. I’m sure the home owners have come in the house and seen what I had with me. just some of the comments that was made a day later when they were mowing the yard. So. Ya. These kind of things make me want my camper to live in when working on the road.

I've stayed in one back before they started instituting all the BS "Fees" and "Rules" and it was actually really nice and cheaper than a hotel. The host was a cool dude and offered to let me eat dinner with him and his wife and we swapped Army stories. I don't think there was any cameras, but if they wanna see a 6'1 200-pound tattooed biker dude taking a dump, they can just ask, but I promise they'll only wanna see it once 🤣

We use airbnb and/or vrbo almost exclusively when traveling. Gotta really check those extra fees but so many people have bitched about it they're now required to list everything when you book. Still better than a hotel IMO. If we just are passing through or only 1 night, it'll be a hotel. Our trips to Spain, Italy and soon Portugal have all been airbnb/vrbo except a night or two.

Haven't looked for any cameras. Might start looking closer but kinda doubt it. About like OneMoreEvan, it's not what you're hoping to see....guaranteed!
