Some Perspective...

I have been looking for an average used car for my 19 y/o son. A good example here in Austin is a 2001 Nissan Xterra (an SUV), 125K miles, reportedly no issues, $2000.00. Right now even an average brand of AR is selling for more. Makes it a little easier helping him buy his first car!

I have an '01 Frontier with about an extra 70k miles over what that XTerra has on it. Probably a pretty similar drivetrain in it as well. It's been a fantastic vehicle and the only things I've had to fix were the high pressure AC hose (twice) and valve cover gaskets. The XTerra is probably due for a timing belt change unless it's already been done. I did it on my Frontier and don't consider that a "fix" but just regular maintenance.
