City Butcher for BBQ, Texas style brisket, and fabulous burnt ends.

If you are into tools, woodworking or metal, the Grizzly store is there, I could spend days there...
City Butcher is legit. Probably the best burnt ends I’ve ever had. Maybe it was just that one batch, but they were phenomenal.

There was one of those in Owasso for a while. I got lunch there many times.

Yeah....original is in Jefferson City, MO. The only time I'd ever get to eat there is when we went to Lake of the Ozarks.
Several years ago, they branched out. When I found out, I'd drive up to Owasso and buy 5 or 6 "half-bakes", bring them home and put them in the freezer.
Now, I'm stuck waiting to find time to get to the lake or hoping for my sister to visit home so she'll pick some up in Springfield for me.

Springfield has long been famous for it's version of cashew chicken.
They have their own style that most Chinese restaurants in the area serve.

Thanks for triggering a college memory, circa 1977, that had skipped my mind. Of course, I'm about to start a low-carb approach to food to address my Type 2 diabetes so it may just have to remain a memory...<sigh>

Tis amazing so many people have a connection to Springfield, not just a passing through eating stop. Is it because of Silver Dollar City or the lakes? My job has its HQ there and my wifey's sister lives there.
