You should have got a couple of 12500 round drums. They were $3500 or something like that.
I would skip the ACOG and buy more ammo. That's the logical thing to do in this preplexing situation. I've never been one for fancies and blings on my insturments of death. Quite seriously I have no clue what an ACOG is supposed to do anyway.
I've been stocking up for a while, but I don't think there is ever enough. I made Wal Mart runs over the last couple of days and bought .22, .38 special, 12 ga buckshot, #4, and slugs, .30 carbine, 9mm, .45 acp.
IF this passes, and things get back to a little normal, I am going to buy a ton of .223.
As for odd calibers, I have a .405 Winchester model 1895 and a Winchester Model 1907 in .351 WSL
Those were added later. The 1907 has quite an impressive history, that, unfortunately, has been lost to the mists of time. It was the first high cap semi auto battle rifle. The French order per a bunch for use in WW I by their pilots. It saw some action with British and American troops in the trenches. I think I recall reading somewhere that Gen. Pershing had a few on his 1916 Punitive Expedition into Mexico after Villa's raid on Columbus, New Mexico. It was a favorite of both law enforcement and gangsters during the 20s to the 40s. The border patrol used them as did many corrections facilities. I have period 10 round mags for mine. I have a deluxe model with checkered fore grip and stock. Cabelas had one for $4000. I stole mine at an auction for a little over $600.
I wish I had a 45 long colt lever to go with my SA. I have a 44 mag that is my favorite lever gun. Couldn't hardly afford to shoot it until I started reloading. Fun guns to shoot. Especially at leftover produce or pumpkins/ melons. Good times. My favorite rifles to shoot are my .45 long colt Winchesters, especially the little Trapper models. But Hell, I still write with a fountain pen and call the refrigerator the "ice box".
