doing the research on candlepower forums currently ... give me a bit and I'll have the answer.

Cree XP-G R5 was the latest until XML T-6 just came out.
so far wild claims are batted about... 1,000 lumens etc.

but that's being driven at 3.5amp ... your runtime at 3.5amp will be very short with 2x CR123. this is not even getting into all the heat produced.

emitters being driven at a more reasonable current ... 500 milliamp to 1amp should be the real gauge for real world performance.

so far all signs point to XML emitter being only 20% more efficient at currents below 1.5amps.

for weapons lights... a single stage drop-in is required... for normal lights like your C2 Centurion... multi-stage makes more sense. don't care for the strobe feature that always gets thrown in. gets in the way... much better to stay simple with multi-mode lights.

for some reason Chinese lights include every bell and whistle... all it does is get in the way. Surefire has much better usability.

so far the newest XML drop-in in single or multi-mode are about $19 shipped.

here's the link for single stage drop-in for XML P-60

I need to get another drop in, this time for my C2 Centurion. Who has the best deals on the latest drop-in's?
