Turn the fuel off an let it run until it dies. Fuel sitting in the carb can degrade the seals. And if you store it with fuel in the tank fill it all the way up. Less room to condensate with temp changes.I actually switched my generac over to propane a couple years ago because of these reasons .

Do not use E-10 in small engines. The ethanol will etch and pit the carburetor to the point of destroying it. Sta-Bil is good for 100% gas. But nothing will stop the ethanol from evaporating out of E-10 fuel - regardless of what the manufacturers say.

I say this as a certified small engine mechanic.

I have the predator 3500 and the 2000, and I usually try to start them every 3 to 4 months and let them run for about 20 or 30 minutes. That way when I go to start them up and really need them they are ready to go. Stay bill in the gas tank is a very good option, sea foam is also good to run through them on occasion.
