I came up with a decent way to clear out crimped primer pockets on military brass, I used a counter-sinking wood bit, worked like a charm I did 50 pcs of .308 and I only took too much off of 3 of them and had about 3 or 4 that were too tight, but overall I would say it is a pretty clean and cheap way to do it. anyone else tried this?

Is this the bit you're talking about?

I have and use both the RCBS primer pocket swaging set and the Dillon swager. The dillon is easier to use in my opinion and much faster form me. Both work well. I also have the Possom Hollow primer pocket reamer and occasionally I will use it and a chamfering tool when I only to do one or two. Blitzfike

I have pretty much gotten out of military brass, but reaming is, in my experience, inferior to swaging. I still do a little .308 and 30-06 brass. One swaging and the problem is gone forever and no metal is lost. CB
