Been a while since I cruised Armslist but I figured I'd take a look today. This was the very top advert. Maybe I'm wrong but wow this person seems like they are swinging for the fences in their trade desires LOL.

i doubt that means a direct trade but who knows a guy can ask. That is a damn nice example of a k98, if it has markings it would hold some real value

Cited as no import marks, and unspecified if boot would be added. Even with marks would it really be close??
Doesn’t really matter if it’s close if it’s what he has to trade. Maybe he thinks it’s a straight across fair trade for something in those calibers, or maybe it’s just what he has to trade against one. There’s not enough info in that screen shot to say one way or the other.

You can get a savage 110 in either caliber new with a vortex scope for less than $600
I don’t have a clue what the 98 is worth but doesn’t sound too far out there. Should be able to find a used savage for less then $500. I would think.

I have not looked at 338s 8n a while but last time I did the 110 series was all north of 1k. I think MSRP on those is 1300 for most of the series unless savage is making one I don't know about.

True but they aren't offering the 338 Lapua anywhere close, and that's what the ad was wanting. I got curious and I think the 110 long range hunter came up on the low end of the 338 Lapua line for savage at 1300 to 1400.
