Unfortunately my father passed away and I'm liquidating his collection. All the firearms I'm posting are well maintained and were kept in a temperature and moisture controlled safe. Please feel free to make an offer as I have a lot on my plate right now.

This is a Taylors and Co Colt 45 Revolver Model 1873 Engraved. Comes with a leather embossed holster as well.

asking $700

Thank you. Do you thing a leather smith could shorten the belt to about a 36”?
Depending on skill, probably. If it's a "Ranger Style" though, it might just be better to sell the rig and buy a new one. That would require unstitching and restitching. Also keep in mind it will cause the cartridge loops to be off center from original position.

I wonder if a 40 would fit me? I generally run 38-40", and happen to have a 5 1/2" SAA but no holster as of yet.

I don't know if the Mexico rigs are made like they are here, if so the 40" is at the middle hole. So if you wear a 36" in jeans the 40 might fit. A leather smith could move the billet in a couple inches and not change where bullet loop are on you much and not see the old holes much either.

I wish I were closer, I am opposite corner from claremore.
I do some leather work and recently aquired a Cobra sewing machine, pretty sure a leather worker can fix it to fit and line it up close to center for you. You will probably never match the stitching and belt holes may be slightly different. There is a fellow in Carnegie, Okla. GAST, guns ammo saddles and tack, who has 40 or 50 cowboy rigs, maybe more, all used most slightly, some of Mexican tanning, Some high quality, and he will trade about anything, fairly easy to deal with. About the only Store around that I know of that has that many leather gun belts. Lot of Saddles and Tack, tons of repair stuff for Head stalls, bridles, bits etc. It is mostly used stuff mixed quality.
And Like TWO GUN stated, you might find an already punched belt hole to work. If it was close you could place memory foam strips at 3 and 6 o'clock positions to snug it up for short term use.
