That is why Dustin said anywhere he is allowed to be. If I am allowed to be in a school legally (teacher, parent,etc..) I should legally be allowed to carry. I carry at crowded malls, movie theaters, Walmart, etc... So why shouldn't I be allowed to carry at school?

I just want to be able to park at work and have my pistol in the truck. I don't want to be a reserve officer, If I wanted to be a reserve officer I would have done so a long time ago. As the language stands right now in the SDA act a school district BOE appears to be able to grant exceptions to the no carry rule already.

There are probably multiple reasons - none of which make sense.

The educational system at higher levels is run by elite utopianists who believe they are making a better world without violence.... This is pure nonsense.

At the local administrator level, there is fear of crazy teachers and parents who will lose their temper and start shooting.... This has not proven to be the case in auto accidents or elsewhere so it would not happen in schools.

Teachers would be sloppy in their gun handling and so kids would find an unattended gun and shoot someone.... Fire, fine and or imprison anyone who leaves a gun unattended around kids. That should quickly correct the problem.

Allowing CCW holders to carry in schools is not without some minor potential problems but the alternative of leaving schools undefended is completely crazy. Voluntary concealed carry by teachers works very well in Utah.

Prior to the Law change in '96, I, as a teacher, used guns in my classroom(black Powder) as part of my re-enactment education. I taught about rate of fire for Colonial Armies and distances the people had to be to accurately make sure to hit the enemy. We went through gun loading drills and canon firing drills as part of our education about the Revolutionary War. I taught American history. We raised a Tepe on the playground, I wore my buckskins and we braintanned a deer hide for each class I taught. after 1996 that All changed. So much so that I retired in 2000. ( I also was having trouble hearing my students)
Mostlly though re-enacting realism was finished in the classroom. I do remember a time when the cops came because someone mentioned that there was a man with a gun, in Buckskins, carrying a bale of Beaver pelts entering a school in Norman. When they found out it was me they had a great laugh. Now however there would be SWAT on the scene in a heartbeat.
