Thank you for your note. On behalf of Chancellor Girod, I want you to know that we agree with you that the instructor’s comment was entirely inappropriate. Violent rhetoric is not acceptable in our classrooms.

More broadly, I want to assure you that this instructor's behavior is not typical or representative of the classroom environment at our university. KU prides itself on having world-class educators who are adept at leading respectful discourse in their classrooms. This week's situation was an unfortunate exception to that.
