I have used a screw for years but not on a truck. It is by far the fastest easiest way to split wood,and if done right is plenty safe.

I suckered into one of those. It even stalls my 1100 foot pound impact gun. Maybe good on rotten wood or balsa, but not on hardwoods.

I used one for years on a tractor. Would beat my hydraulic one hands down! Fast!

And no lifting logs, just roll me up to it and let it go. The ones on a tractor are built with adjustable Stop Arms that catch the log and prevents spinning. No way would I use one on a truck.
