It is an old pattern. The lefties disarm the public and while they are in power there is a sudden uptick in "Right wing violence" so they start passing out weapons to left wing supporters. Take over complete.

There is only one reason the dem/socialist/leftist's never ending love affair with their anti-gun agenda exists. It is the only viable path toward enslavement. It's kind 'a foolish and fruitless to tell someone to tote that barge, lift that bale, till that row, and fetch that water when he is holding a gun to your face.

That’s definitely an element of it, but for most of the non-politicians I think it has more to do with wanting government to provide for them, keep them safe, validate their worldview, etc. The idea that there might be something more powerful than government threatens their perception of government’s ability to take care of them, and that cripples them with fear. So guns must go.
What these people are doing is selling themselves into political servitude. It's amazing how far the left has come with welfare checks, food stamps, and class envy. Oh, and fear. And populism. And 'For the Children.' These bought and paid for people will be the first pressed into service to meet the ends the left has in store for them.
Oh, and don't forget the Main Stream Media who filter everything of any consequence through a bovine sphincter to the benefit of the left.
