Requires an ID to buy beer/cigarettes. ID should be checked when writing checks. Heck, I couldn't even pick up my wife's order from Walmart at the store because she forgot to put my name on list and my ID didn't match the pick up name.

I don't see how requiring an iD and registration to vote would be an issue unless you wanted people to vote multiple times and illegal immigrants to vote. Like the story this week out of Ohio where a lady is proudly boasting she voted for Obama 6 times.

After reviewing the constitution on the subject I agree that voting is a privelige, and not a right. That just furthers my point. If the possession of wealth cannot be determining factor in who gets that privelige, how can they even begin to think they can use it in restricting a right?

So now only those with "wealth" should be able to influence the government.........That is a very troubling thought indeed. The acquisition of wealth does not always equate into ones ability to reason effectively. I think it would be better said that should the government be supporting your existence then you have no business in deciding how the government is operated.

No, those with property. I didn't say only those with a 1mil+ estate. So that 50,000 starter home qualifies as property.

It's all academic anyways. We have elevated the privilege of voting to a right and diminished the right of arms to a privilege.

I'd say a whole bunch of you need to go re-read the Constitution, specifically the 9th, 14th, 15th, 19th, 24th, and 26th Amendments. The 9th is what specifies that the Constitution Guarantees rather than Grants Rights; the remaining Amendments specifically deal with the Right to Vote.
