4Sevens (or FOURSEVENS now) has been one of my favorites for years. The Mini and Quark lines are great, and I have several of each in different battery configurations. For the Quark lights, I do prefer the normal UI over the Tactical for everyday use. I also have a Preon 2 that I carry in my shirt pocket everyday with a couple of Energizer Lithium AAAs. 4Sevens lights are great, but they haven't come out with anything interesting to me in a while. Their Maelstrom series of lights just don't do it for me. Below are a few other lights that I dearly love. 1. Klarus XT-11. I love the switch, the brightness, and the throw for the size. I bought it to keep on my AR but I like it too much to leave in the safe all the time. So an old Surefire 6P with a LED drop in and a 18560 pulls that duty. 2. Niteye Eye10. Small package, infinite control ring, crazy dim, and crazy bright (for ten minutes anyway). This is light in my pocket every night that I'm at home. I use a RCR123A in it and charge it up every week or two depending on use. 3. Thrunite Catapult (v1). Great thrower that I have ahd for a while, but a little dim by today's standards. For my use it is plenty bright and really throws well. The construction is extremely solid and the lens, reflector, and SST-50 LED are things of beauty. Most of the time however, it just sits in its box. Other than that for me it is old Surefires that have been modified and 4Sevens lights. For a headlamp I rock a Zebralight H51w. Single CR123 battery, 3 modes with one dimmer mode each. It is light and comfortable with a warm LED beam. This one gets alot of use around the house when I am working on stuff and when I am out hunting.
