The latest PR nightmare for Piedmont Police

Just a hunch but I'm pretty sure there is more to the story than just the way the media spun it..it also make for better ratings when you paint the picture the way it was. I'm sure there's more to come in the next few days. And yes, the city ordinances will not assess fines that large, must be a state statute. Wouldn't that be something if the officer had no control of the fine amount and did his job enforcing state and local laws. Sounds like the system itself needs an overhaul..but what do I know, just an observation.

It was a two or three yearold kid! What more could it have been?

Again, I don't have a dog in this fight, but the people were saying the might be more to the story and I simply pointed out that the comments on the new9 article showed that was a possibility.

Last I checked, a police officer has bigger fish to fry than watching for peeing 3 year olds.

Don't know all the facts, but a three year old cannot be held accountable under the law. It is probably a child neglect deal.

I retract the last part. After reading the article - it is pure B.S. there has to be more to the story.

The attitude that the fine was going to be (much) smaller than $2,500 is touted in the story as somehow making this whole situation better. While that may be true, the fact remains that a Toddler. Recevied. A. Ticket. For. Peeing. In. His. Own. Front. Yard.

This isn't a hobo taking a leak on main street for everyone to see. That's what's really got people mad in the first place....that a toddler (some may say his mom) got a ticket at all for this "offense"
