Technically most counties in Oklahoma are Tribal. We don't have established reservations like some western states.
Tribal land falls under federal law. There is no sovereign bs like people pretend. The problem with this is what happens when a non-tribal person commits a crime against a tribal citizen on tribal land.
In my simplistic view, the indian allotments from the govt are kind of like a personal tax refund at the end of the year. The govt forcefully took the land (or part of your paycheck), and then makes out like they’ve done some great thing by graciously giving back a portion of what was yours in the first place.Seadog may be right. I'm under the belief that land originally allotted to tribal members was in a US federal trust. And as members of the tribe sold their allotted land to a non tribe member the land came out of the trust and is now private property. Thus the land now owned by a non member of the tribe is still in the area designated as a tribal area but is no longer tribal land. If I'm right this leaves only original tribe member's land allotments still owned by the defendant's of the tribe member receiving the allotments as tribal land. And tribal land owned and managed by the tribe such as casinos as tribal land.
Yes this is true, however the fed. LEOs and court system don't want the headache of having this extra load shoved on their plate. It will take an act of congress to sort this out. So far I haven't seen much appetite from any of our elected officials to take on this issue.Tribal land falls under federal law. There is no sovereign bs like people pretend.
The elected officials are busy right now standing around with both thumbs up their as*, as they watch 10-15K illegals a day invade our country.Yes this is true, however the fed. My view has a different perspective. I have never taken land or owned a slave. I owe no one anything. The battle was fought and it’s over. Long ago might I add. We should all fall under the same laws and regulations. No more segregated treatment for anyone.
