Things like this have been tried in the past with some success and some failure.
A word of advice would be that if there is a range nearby, leave the shooting to that range and just allow folks to bring their CCW and unloaded swap-meet items (I would be very cautious about swap-meet items being checked or tagged for being unloaded too).
Remember the idiot you always see at the gun-show wielding a shotgun or rifle with no zip-tie in it while aiming it around at other people in the crowd. With 14,000 members strong, chances are he's a member here and will show up at your event
Reason I say leave the shooting at a shooting range is that I've met more than a few folks at various ranges in and around Okmulgee/Tulsa/Sapulpa/Wagoner/etc... who from hearing stories posted later, I found out were members on this board and several were not as gun-safety educated as they should have been when handling firearms.
You'll undoubtedly have some show up at a gathering where guns are involved. At a range, its easier to control this element and as much as I hate to say it, legally, you're not liable by having this go down on your property if that sort of thing stays on a shooting-range (people are much less afraid to call someone out at a range also - shooting on private property is a beautiful thing, but when you get a bunch of unknown folks together, there will almost always be at least one who ruins it for everyone).
Not trying to be negative, but just remember, with guns, there is no such thing as assuming that folks are educated and an ounce of prevention is well worth it here.
I'm very interested in this happening - would love to see regular get-togethers and such over on this side of the state.
