Does anyone have any experience using the 6.5 swede. Ive been thinking about getting a 6.5x55 swedish mauser any thoughts on what i should expect?
I’ve got 3. Two model 96’s and a model 94. They are very accurate with mild recoil. The brass disc on the stock gives you all the info on the barrel condition the last time it was inspected. Muzzle erosion and bore diameter etc. the Swedes replaced barrels when we would think they were just broken in. Most are capable of better accuracy than the average shooter.
Excellent round for me so far, my 15 yo son is shooting one now, he dropped his first doe with it in her tracks with a facing/chest shot two years ago. Ours shoots 123's and 140's equally well.
Great round! I’ve had 4 and wish I would’ve held on to at least one. My load was RL22 and 120 gr Corelokt bullets.
The short ski troop and cavalŕy carbine model is my favorite Mauser.

I had one many years ago and wish I still had it. The recoil is lite enough I could probably still shoot it.
It's my favorite caliber, I have several, even one that's an Ackley.
It's a 130 year old design that still has a following, and is essentially ballistically matched by the 6.5 Creedmoor that everyone with a manbun loves so much.
I’ve been saying this since the creedmore came out, and it’s amazing how many people have been conned by nothing more than rebranding and marketing.
