I'm the [proud owner of a Taurus 25-PLY pistol,,,
It's the later polymer version of the all metal Taurus PT-25.

I know many of you have no need for a Mouse Gun,,,
But I like owning this pistol even though it rarely gets fired.

I also have the .22 version of the Poly pistol,,,
From my days of collecting matching rimfire/centerfire pistols.

The only regret I have is that when I bought the pistols,,,
I only ordered 1 spare mag for each gun,,,
Instead of the 4 extra I usually buy.

The pistols have since been discontinued,,,
Taurus said they have no mags in stock.

I was able to order 3 mags from Mec-Gar to fit the 22-PLY,,,
But I have had no such luck finding mags for the 25-PLY.

Taurus told me that the mags for the PT-25 pistol,,,
Will not serve in the 25-PLY.

Recently I was in a gun store and asked about the 25-PLY mags,,,
The gunsmith went on-line and said he could order the parts and build the mags.

According to his reference materials,,,
Magazine parts for the PT-25 and 25-PLY are the same.

I went on-line and found detailed photos of the PT-25 mags,,,
And compared them to my existing 25-PLY mags,,,
I can't tell any difference at all in them.

So I went on-line and found some factory new PT-25 mags on eBay,,,
The seller has 5 of them for sale at $39.95 each,,,
I decided to take a chance and order one.

If it works I'll go back and order two more,,,
If it turns out that it doesn't function,,,
I'll peddle it off to a PT-25 owner.

So I'm crossing my fingers that this will work out well.

Wish me luck.

A little quick research on the mags.

"While this magazine does fit the Taurus 25-PLY, the plastic base is narrower than the one that comes with the gun and doesn't fit the countours of the wider grip."

Ya know,,,
I could live with that.

I found that Mec-Gar made mags for my 22-PLY,,,
The only difference is that they don't have that base at all,,,
The bottom of the mags is just a small plate making the grip a bit short.

But I am living with them okay,,,
So if the base doesn't fit the grips perfectly,,,
I think that I can live with that inconvenience just fine.

Thanks for posting this RickN,,,

Well I received the PT-25 Mag today,,,
And I'm very pleased to find your information is correct.

The PT-25 Mag fit into the 25-PLY perfectly,,,
I haven't fired the pistol to check true functionality,,,
But I did load the 9 rounds and cycled them through the pistol.

Yes, the plastic base is narrower than the original magazine,,,
But not so much as to make any real difference at all so I'm a very happy camper. :)

I could go on-line and try to find the wider plastic base,,,
But that would only be to satisfy my OCD tendencies.

I'll satisfy them enough by ordering two more PT-25 magazines,,,
That will bring me up to my preferred 5 mags per pistol.

Thanks again for the info RickN.

I am so frackin' bummed!

When I ordered that one mag the seller had 4 in stock,,,
At $40.00 a pop I wasn't comfy ordering the 3 that I want/need.

So after receiving the first one I went back to eBay to get two more,,,
Now they are out of stock and I'm pounding my head on my keyboard in regret.

Who would have thought that mags for an obscure little pistol would sell so dang fast.

Oh well,,,
The search continues.
