Like with the slush fund scandal in 2012 and the "questionable audits" scandal in 2015 that resulted from the Fed. raid of the Grant-Goodman school district it involves contract vendors and the same lack of effective "internal controls".

Interesting side note while the article above names suspect Devin Fletcher as "head of the Talent Management Department" earlier info from TPS identify him as "Chief Talent and Equity Officer"

Gist responded "She said no money from taxpayers or payrolls was affected and that the money was primarily donor funded."

I guess that is why no one was interested in oversight. Really?... Since it was only primarily donor funded money, what was the source of the money that wasn't donor funded? TPS needs to get their financial house in order. The kids can't even read. Pathetic

And the OEA is anti-audit, can't imagine why.
Schools, or any other places that take in tax payer money, should be audited at least every other year. It will cost money for the audits, but will likely save money in the long run. (Saying that optimistically, as I'm sure they will find other ways to flush money down the drain.)

Read the TW article above, there are regular audits but they're not much good when you can't trust the auditors.
