The other funny thing is that, while the NCAA has jurisdiction over the the players and schools as a regulatory body, they have no say over any boosters. So they can run a muck, and we rely on the honor of the other entities to "keep it clean." That's not going to happen anywhere close to 100% of the time, in every possibly minor degree.
And the whole time I thought colleges and universities existed to provide people an education. My bad,
