As someone who recently left that ship (DDG56), I know the Gunners Mates onboard. The person currently in charge doesn’t know **** about guns. She and the chief in charge of the division are being rightfully ridiculed for it. The GM chief is now famous in the State of Washington (the ship's current home port) because of this.Now onto the officer in question in the photo. He is currently the CO of the ship, and he's one of the few good ones out there. Actually bringing positive change to the ship and lifting morale up. Yet now he'll probably only be remembered for this.

I remember some years ago seeing a news photo of some cops in some city somewhere and it showed a female with her AR15 platform rifle and she was aiming at a suspect . . . the magazine was in facing the rear!

I have a friend that never had a scope put one on a pellet rifle and told me he was bringing it over for me to adjust it because he can't get it dialed in and everything looks far away.

Yep... it was backwards.
He is not a hunter and never was.
I can understand why he did it but not or military.

Any expert with a rifleman would immediately know that installing a scope on a rifle backwards will enable a low power rifle to take down huge game such as elephant or other large targets at close range. For example: if you wanted to put an alligator into a matchbox, you view the alligator with a scope reversed, then pick up the alligator with a tweezers and place it in the matchbox. Easy as Pi…..
