I used the recepticle up above the stove. I plugged the converter in there. I then used 18ga 2 wire (used for door bells) that I got at home depot. I beleive it was a 50' spool. I ran from the converter to my dimmer, then to my first set of lights. I soldered the connections, but if I ever do it again I will buy the quick connectors. i believe they are $1 each and make it go alot faster. I am good at soldering connections, but when you try to mount them to the underside of the cabinet the tab on the light strip pops off if you are not careful. Once I had the first set done, I ran a wire back the same way that I came back passed my converter and over to the next set of cabinets. I ran all my wires inside my cabinets and tried to hide them the best I could.
The hardest part was making the jump from one cabinet to the far one on the other side of the sink. Lucky for me I have my backsplash and wall torn out. I ran from the upper cabinet down to the base cabinet and ran the wire in the base cabinets. once I got across I ran it back up to the upper cabinet. With a wall and back spash inplace this will be difficult, but not impossible.
Ill try to sketch out a drawing of how I have mine laid out. it works perfectly and I love it. The only problems I encountered was the solder joints popping off my light strips and when I stapled the wireing it was too tight and killed the power. I just had to relax the tension on the wire with my pocket knife. The staples just drive in too deeply and interupted the power.

For myself, after looking at many options, I went with smd5050 led bars (a warm light of 3500K). I did not care for most others I looked at (not warm enough, not bright enough, inelegant housing , too expensive etc.) The Phillips eBar is also a good choice if you can find it. Neither Lowes nor HD was very impressive in my comparison shopping but your experience may be different.You might also consider LED strips or pucks ... IKEA carries low cost versions of both though I prefer the LED bars.
