I've been thinking about upgrading from a sheet metal gun cabinet to a safe and found this on youtube.

It's a good video - the most important point about the security of a safe, gun or otherwise, is that its only real purpose is to discourage and delay the criminal - there's not one made that can't be broken, one way or another. So you want to discourage the amateurs from trying, and slow down the more experienced as much as possible. In either case, IMHO, if you feel you need a safe you probably also need a monitored alarm system to make the call on a break-in when you're not available to make it. Then you just have to hope that the response time for the call is shorter than the time it takes for them to get into your safe, grab your s*it and split.
