All I can say was It was different. Mariachi band played during the ceremony at the Catholic church. The priest said it was his first wedding in English.
Then at the reception the band played for a 4 hours. Then they put on the boonka-boonka music which gave the whole family headaches so we left. The wedding was at 2;30 and we left at 9;30 and the party was just getting into full swing. Great food though. Had a good time.

well give him credit (or the family) for doing it in English..... I guess everyone is welcome to their taste in music, but I pay for a lot of songs in bars when I hit the "eject" button with a pool cue when something comes on in spanish.

Welcome you(Sick, Tired, Poor), but you are to assimilate, not separate.

Congrats to the couple! :)

My parents next door neighbors are Mexican, and since they have 10 acres they had a couple weddings for family members there when I was in high school. They were pretty much 48 hour parties, complete with touring Mariachi band from out of state in a giant bus.

They know how to party, that's for sure. Anyone with alcohol or money for the money dance is invited, and twice that many show up.:thumb:

I'm not much on weddings, so I try to avoid them unless it's someone I know well. But given the choice, Mexican weddings are probably more fun than Gringo weddings. :D

The food, tell us about the food!! Any lumpia or chicken adobo???

No. strangely enough. But we have that at home all the time.
It was all mexican. chicken fajitas, beans, guacamole, tamales, rice and a bunch of other stuff. All homemade it appeared and a lot tastier than any mexican rest. I've been to.
The salsa was fresh, not hot and was good enough you could have just drank it by the cupfull.

If I had been advised earlier we could have arranged for a lechon baboy(pig on a pole).
