Their purpose in life was to get people mad enough to attack them and then sue. Big daddy Fred Phelps was an attorney.

Among a long list of other's! Islam and Christianity are two of the worst religions to use horrible tactics to push their views onto others. Preach love everyone, judge no one, blah blah blah, but be THE most judgmental and ousting group of people in modern day existence. At least Islamist are holding true to their word in killing everyone, lol! There is something to be said for consistency.
Ya know, you are a little weird, and we THINK you are a witch, we are going to burn you at the stake in public... good 'ol Christian's doing a good deed right there...
I need not make a list mocking the Christian religion, as it is too lengthy and well documented, and are continuing to write the history in the modern day everywhere around you. This thread is about one of them...Hobby Lobby is a big one that is still battling about it, and will end up losing in the end.
I will say this though, the people that DO try to lead the life of good Christian's, are good people, undeniably. I'm not talking just the part timers either. It is harder and harder to come across a genuine Christian. Too many have adopted the Catholic idea of do what I want and ask for forgiveness later even though I know I shouldn't do it. That is not what it is about, it is about doing the right thing, even when no one is looking, and not for the good of yourself, but for the good of everyone.

Along with half the family still left. It was and continues to be about money and hate.
As for the religious debate, yes some religions have committed evil acts. Spanish Inquisition anyone? However, just as often the religion has been used as cover for the evil desires of vain, greedy, covetous men. Some people desire to have a world free of religion, but don't forget the law of unintended consequences. Religion anchors legions of people across the globe to moral and just behaviors. Without that anchor system, how many of them would be directionless or purposeless enough to do bad things without religion in their lives?
I wouldn't be so quick to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
You are exactly right. Religion does a lot of good for some people, and exactly how much you can never gauge because you wouldn't know unless it wasn't there. My only hope for humanity is we can find a way to be simple again. Simply treat people as you want to be treated, it's plain and simple. Everything else works itself out, whichever deity you claim.
Spanish Inquisition, heck, how about how the USA came about. Christian's got mad, came over, claimed land that wasn't their's in the first place, and killed the native people, and pushed them to damn near extinction, and said, here's a little piece of your land you can keep because we say you can, but you have to walk there through the brutal winter because "we care about you, and we are treating you how we would want to be treated, we aren't judging you...", we are just going to take whatever we want, BS. White Christian slave owner's? You betcha.... Hoorah! Christianity rocks doesn't it?! Until people actually follow whatever their religion preaches, it will remain a broken record, except for Islam, which just baffles me that you kill everyone with different ideals than you have. koo koo people.

A while back that was the thinking, but it's not true. They have received a few small settlements from cities or the like for violating their right to protest. But it only adds up to a few thousand dollars. They spend tens of thousands a year on travel alone. They have like 10 lawyers in the family. They do personal injury and workers comp law. The family self funds their "ministry."
