Someone else posted earlier about big buildings going up along Hwy 51 east of Broken Arrow, but I'm talking about that - road? path? - that they're building along the west side of Highway 169 in Tulsa, just south of 71st Street. Is it an extension of the Riverparks network of biking/jogging trails? If so, where's it going? Is it supposed to extend south to the SE TCC campus, and from there hook up with the trail next to the hotel at the 91st Street exit off 169? That's what I was thinking... am I wrong?

I remember seeing a master plan for the bike / walking paths somewhere either on the Tulsa County or City of Tulsa website. They plan to extend those paths all over the place so it wouldn't surprise me if that is what it is.

I find it hilarious that they justified all the extra millions in the "art" that was "required" to be put into the barrier walls on that side and yet in several other places where massive construction is going on right next to residential areas, there's no "art" on their barrier walls.

Oklahoma's transportation commission is the most corrupt on the planet (and strangely enough, our roads are the worst on the planet).

I drove past the other day, and they were painting the concrete. But the paint was concrete-colored :D (i.e. a tan/gray putty color). Maybe it has some sealant in it, but heck... they don't always seal driveways and roadways and they hold up fairly well.

What a waste...

I'm talking a few miles up 169 and other highways in Tulsa where they're putting in new barriers - seems like the class of neighborhood has a lot to do with what "requirements" are in-place for the million dollar "art". There was a thing in the news where someone inquired as to how much that stuff cost and it was literally millions of dollars and ODOT's response was that they were "required to for beautification reasons" or some crap like that.
