What diff is this?

It's on an XJ. It's not mine yet, but it's not a D35 or D44. No drain plug on the cover has me thinking a Ford rear end, but the shape of the housing just does not look familiar. Any ideas guys (and or gals).

Odd for an 8.25 to be in a 00 XJ. But looking a bolt pattern I believe you are correct. I just could not identify the diff cover. I'm guessing it's after market perhaps.

I've never seen one without a fill plug on the cover. Looks like 91'-01' was either a 35 or a 8.25, 8.25 having the distinguishable flat spot on the bottom.
