Dial is more secure. Better safes will also have external hinges. Safe manufacturers sometimes praise their item for internal door hinges when in fact external are better. With external, not only can you open the door 180 degrees (which you will appreciate), but it also adds a distraction to any would be thief. Even if he does waste his time and bypass the hinges, the door is still held closed by the lock bolts. Also, decide how many guns you want to store, double that number, and get a safe claiming that new capacity.

Keep an eye on the stock at TSC, they load up on safes for Christmas, but then they mark them down to get rid of them in a hurry after Christmas day has passed.

Atwoods has some really good deals on their safes right now...
I seen a (Stack On) 36 gun with key pad for $649 there today
I have the Stack On 32 gun W/ combo lock that I like alot
Check Atwoods if you get a chance

There are alot of good safes, look for the gauge of steel used. The thicker the better of course. BUT, Get one with a dail combo rather than a digital! I am a locksmith and can tell you we drill digital locks usually 4-5 times a week, I have been in tulsa for 5 years (locksmith for 17 yrs) and in that 5 yrs have not had to drill a dial open. If there is a problem with a dial it can usually be manipulated open in a few minutes whereas with a digital your only option is to drill and they do fail often.

Quite honestly, I wouldn't keep anything in a stack on I didn't want to lose. I've seen a higher end Stack On entered in less than 2 minutes.
