Don't want to remove any finish.. Want to shine it up though- hasn't been fired in over 40 years. It is a 1968 6''. Beautiful, but has some very tiny bedroom drawer scratches. I gave it to my brother 35 years ago, he never shot it, but he kept it by the bed in the drawer. He was a well-known actor ... he passed away, and I inherited it back. I have heard the finish on these is thin, but hard- the marks aren't really scratches, just tiny swirl type marks. I would think a buffer and rouge, but I am not talented enough to attempt/risk that.

FLITZ and a cotton cloth diaper. Trust me...... Just make sure the diaper is clean

I have also had good luck removing fine scratches with flitz. Like was said any little spec of dust in your cloth will ruin your day.

Sorry to hear about your brother. Hope he is in a better place. Good luck with your pistol. Post a pic if you get a chance. They are beautiful.
