My springs broke around 2002 and I use that double coil spring 16 foot wood door all the time.
I maintained many overhead doors and fire doors at FAA in the warehouse and silicone spray was used on the springs.

Any spray lube that is not a dry lube will collect dust and dust mixed with oil/grease is rubbing compound.

I suppose if you spray often to keep the grit washed away you may be fine.

Like a motorcycle chain that you lube.
You do not lube it when it is covered with dirt.

2024 and I keep wondering when my springs will break again. Knocking on wood.

I do a lot of work in the garage so wood, metal or bondo/fiberglass dust is always getting blown around.

I suppose if you just use it to park cars in it may not get the work out that I give mine.

Some white lithium sprays will leave a dry coating.
