Yep, if we don't get CNG powered vehicles on the road in a big way the abundant supply is going to kill NG prices.

Speaking as someone that heats their home with NG, I kinda like that idea. If NG were to stay cheaper than diesel and was more accessible to me in my semi I would consider converting it to NG. At this time it's tough to find big truck access to commercially available NG.

Except that, if NG prices collapse then oil and NG exploration companies will stop looking for more and will also shut down some of their existing wells until prices are restored to the point that they become profitable.

See, I go and try to start a thread on OSA that is NOT about politics and you butt in to make it a political thread. :hithead:

Am I going to have to post my rorschach test to see if you're obsessed with Obama?

He's obssessed with Obama's toes.

As to the price collapse and the reduction in production I guess you are right. But as with all things if there is more demand than supply the price will go up. I really think if NG was easier to access in semi trucks more guys would equip their trucks to burn it. Currently mostly only large fleets are running CNG trucks because of accessibitly. Those of us that operate single trucks or just a handful have fewer options.

Just so it's clear, I am a big fan of NG. It's abudant, clean and we (the U.S.) have tons of it. The more we use and burn to replace imported oil is okay with me. I'm just cheap and will find any way I can to complain about spending money.

we need more CNG vehicles.

I'm seriously considering putting a dual fuel CNG conversion on my truck. Not for political reasons or I think I'll be doing my part to save the planet or anything. But because that sign over the CNG pump at 7-11 says $1.29! Been that way since they built the place. And if you put one of those Phill pumps in your garage it's even cheaper. If you drive a lot it will pay for itself pretty quick.
