While I like the punch of the .40, I'd go with the 26. The 27 has significantly more recoil and the extra bullet weight makes it less ankle/pocket carry friendly.

My $.02, love my Glock 23 (.40), however, with that small of a gun, I would most likely go G26 route for reasons G2G stated.

1 round, so to me that's inconsequential. 26 holds 10+1, 27 is 9+1. You can get +2 extensions for either and I think Pearce offers a +1 for the 27.

I was also probably going to pick up a Taurus 709 slim 9mm, so was originally thinking a .40 for the glock. To be honest it doesn't matter either way to me on which I get (26 or 27) I just wanted to see the benefits of one vs. the other. Obviously the 9mm is more feasible (more available firepower i.e. capacity, and weight) but really like the stoutness of the .40 cal. The way the both of them feel in my hands I will def need either an extended mag, or a pinky extension.....

I have a G23 and a G27. Although I like the .40 better than the 9mm - I would probably pick out the G19 and the G26 if I did it all over again. Cheaper ammo - and with the high quality of ammo nowadays - 9mm is not to shabby
