Not sure if this is the place, but the Ball Fireman Ionosphere is getting serviced. Also having the Rolex Explorer serviced, no longer perpetual, self winding ceased functioning. Looking forward to getting both back. Apparently part of Factory or Authorized Service centers is apearance restoration in both invoices. Price in both cases actually lower than a local watch repair. With the Ball because of the tritium glow tubes only way to replace them is through factory service. My advice, if buying an expensive watch, make sure you get warranty cards at a minimum. They have saved me money on service. Also be careful when buying, there are many fakes, some are really, really good. Also have seen on higher end watches on ebay, add a cost of service to the seller's price if used. Have seen this with several friends. Really think I need to go the route of Thor447. Would have saved me quite a bit of money on a few watches I've serviced in the past 7 years.
I appreciate the vote of confidence. On some watches if I were to service them, it would cost me more than the factory simply due to parts availability. Unless you are an authorized repair center, they do not sell parts outside of their internal network. You have to go second hand on everything and prices can get astronomical.

Okay, now really jealous, awesome watch. Really like Grand Seikos but haven't taken the plunge yet.
I’ve been looking at them for a long time. Pictures really don’t do them justice. You have to see them in person, then, be prepared to crack open your wallet cause it’s difficult to walk away without picking one up once you have one in your hand. The craftsmanship is just unreal.

It’s funny you say this…I never understood the love GS gets from people until I put hands on one. Honestly, the craftsmanship of a GS is on the same level of really high end brands such as Breguet or Blancpain.

Beautiful watch mijo. Enjoy it. Normally, I’d tell you since you now have a GS, sell me your SMP, but I dropped so much on a new humidor last week…

That's what has really "sold" me on Omega. I like their liquid metal ceramic and Ceramic Dials. GS has been on my list, think if I get one it will be a GMT Model. I like the one your wearing quite a bit, it's just too dressy for me. I find I have a penchant for watches that are more sporty, more tool watches.

So this is a question for all that know, obviously I don’t. My SMP is well loved and worn as a daily by the previous owner. He disc golfed, golfed, dove, worked out etc. I got the full kit with warranty cards. If I did have the watched serviced and refurbished, do the cards save on the cost?

Congrats Adam! I've wanted a spring drive Snowflake for a while now. Did you have to pay MSRP or did they offer a discounted price?
I got them to match the $100 discount I got online, but also got it at sticker without taxes. So about $600 off. $750 off if you count the extra titanium link. Not too shabby.
