Another day for the Arnie. Its light for such a big watch
I like the fact that it's solar. Can't have your watch die when your saving your daughter from terrorists or trying to take down an alien while on hunting trip in the jungle!
They did, they are relatively rare. They will sometimes pop up on eBay. This one won't, it was my father's. He loved Clive Cussler books and read about Doxa Diver's there. Factory Service BTW is relatively cheap.
I discovered Clive Cussler about 30 years ago myself and quickly went through the entire back catalog. (I had a lot more time on my hands back then ) I would actually go into dive shops and ask them where to get a Doxa -- and in the 90's was met with lots of blank stares and then offers to sell me a digital dive computer or a G-Shock instead
When i finally found one it was well out of the price range of a young blue collar married guy. Then in 2004, i went into a Seiko retail shop in St Augustine FL and saw an Orange Monster and thought - A-Ha ! Not a Doxa, but scratches the itch for an orange dive watch for sure
I wore it exclusively for years until it suffered a sudden and catastrophic demise in a motorhome fire. I kept it as a reminder that although i lost my watch and many other things, i was still here
The Monster in the foreground is its replacement, but i didnt score that until last year
Every time you post of pic of that watch it’s like your slapping me in the face saying “I’ve got one and you don’t”
