Sorry guys, I don't see the Garrison / Ranger similarities other than that they're both field watches. Here's the inspiration for the current Ranger...

'Twas only a joke, we know who copied whom, really. They all copied WWII flieger/flyer/field watches, and they do what they're supposed to do, provide instant time reading with zero distraction...

I like the simplicity of it and it's a perfect size for me. Most field watches I've considered are all in that 38mm-40mm class. 42mm is about as small as I like on my Sasquatch wrist.

+1 on the Sasquatch wrist. Hard to find anything with xxl hands and wrists.

Yep, we weren't even sure about trying the Garrison until putting it next to the Seiko divers, the Garrison larger dial giving it as much or more presence than the slightly larger Seikos....offhand can only think of a few of the AV-8 retro flyer watches as larger affordable daily drivers, most of the largest (and not all that much larger) also cluttered complexities in also desired quartz, and low water resistance...and battery changes required...most the Seiko field/flyer watch style class is smaller and markers not as bold...this just seemed the best to try. But we can keep looking and find something else to give him a case of I-wannas...or me.

Thanks to @surjimmy and several others who prefer to remain anonymous, who gifted me my very first Citizen.

I was completely ecstatic to receive another Citizen from @mtngunr along with a gaggle of Spydercos that I plan starting a separate thread about later.

Haven’t bought it yet but what are you watch guys thoughts on a Hamilton Khaki Scuba in blue dial. Worn about 10 times with box and card in great shape. It’s the 40 mm size. I’ve got a thin wrist.

I bought one recently, so I will give you the good and bad:

Bad First:

Pin and Collar Bracelet
Microadjust is with springbar on bracelet
Only 2 microadjust points on bracelet
Only 100 Meters water resistance
Bezel is not ceramic, a bit difficult to turn
No luminous pip on bezel

Good:

Well Made
Awesome dial
Decent Lume (not great but better than many)
Detail on dial is excellent
40 mm size ideal for small wrists
Sapphire Crystal
Not a door frame magnet
Like the spikey markers and hands
Very legible
Unique design
Can be very comfortable with the bracelet
80 Hrs Power Reserve
Mine seems to be accurate, + 5 Seconds per day
Common Lug width (if you want a strap bracelet)
