If this chart is correct, then why are shutting down our coal power plants? Maybe so China can get richer to fund their war machine. The rest of the world can pollute like hell and we're shutting down the cleanest coal plants to protect the environment. Another big lie from the left.

It's really simple if you give it some thought with the left's agenda. If you are struggling to stay warm, keep the parlor lights on, eat, and keep the fridge cold, then you've got nothing remaining to arm up to fight them off. You won't be mobile unless you can ride a bicycle if you can keep the tires inflated.

It used to be that the Constitution, self reliance, and free enterprise made up the giant elephant in the room. Bite by bite, that elephant is now not bigger than a mouse.

Why? To diminish the standing of the USA in the world arena and make us dependent on foreign energy sources and unreliable energy production (ie: Wind and Solar) here.
Secondly it is appeasement to the greenies and tree-huggers.
Just my .02 opinion having worked in the power industry nearly my entire working life…

So we can be on the same footing as every other third world country controlled by the few corrupt leadership. We need to be weak, energy is how we flourished to a great nation. Take energy away and the dumb masses are easier to control.

I live in the Oologah area . AEP will be completely closing the coal powered plant in 2026.
This plant is one of the cleanest coal plants in our state and the area as a whole. Makes NO sense at all.
The small gas powered plant in Oologah on the same property will remain open.

The tax hit from this closure will be profound for city, county government and of course for school and vo tech tax purposes will be a major kick in the butt also.😡😡🤮🤮

Hopefully that will be another reversal with the upcoming new leadership like they did when they kicked obummer to the curb.

here in OK,tx an louisiana ,the oil states what we should do is ,when the coal plant need a major rebuild or up grade ,replace it with a gas plant ,,we have plenty of gas in these 3 states, coal has to be brought in from other states far away, okc needs a coal train a week to keep the power on, pretty easy to disrupt that supply,,..with gas we can be self sufficient, in bad times..keep our power on ,and let the green states ,cry for help..

Too late as AEP and EPA have a signed agreement.

I’ve been told the huge wind farm that’s being planned for southern Nowata and Northern Rogers county is AEPs effort to keep the connection they’d give up on the grid. Something about the difficulty getting permits to tie into the grid.
Not sure of that though as my source is not sure the project belongs to AEP

The ability to make steam for turbines is much easier because it makes such hot a fire. Also coal cost for btu per kilowatt hr even transported is still less
