Nevermind, I found it.

2. “Unconcealed handgun” means a loaded or unloaded pistol carried upon the person in a belt holster that is wholly or partially visible, or carried upon the person in a scabbard or case designed for carrying firearms that is wholly or partially visible;

Just want to be sure.. will the new law apply to current CHL holders or will we have to apply for another license to open carry?

No, your current license is sufficient to open carry, from what I read. Renewed licenses may look a little different. They may eliminate the word "Concealed" from it.

"...and upon coming in contact with any peace officer of this state, the person must disclose the fact that he or she is in possession of a concealed or unconcealed firearm..."

That's much broader than our current notification requirement....don't like it.

1. That quote is from the non-resident section, not the full definition of notification on pg 2.

2. This is the current language from the non-resident section:
and upon coming in contact with any peace officer of this state, the person must disclose the fact that he or she is in possession of a concealed firearm

The total change to this section is to add "or unconcealed."

What's not to like?

Define 'contact'? That is very broad...if I pass an officer on the street and say good morning, that's contact. Doesn't our current law state something to the effect of 'during a traffic stop' or similar? (on mobile, can't look it up right now)

To repeat, the revision says exactly what it says now about contact. The only change is to add or unconcealed.

Read pages 2 and 17 of the SDA. The section you are objecting to is on pg 17. The details of what contact means are on pg 2.

They are also only changed to add "or unconcealed."

Take a deep breath, it's OK.

Only when an LEO conducts LEO business with you.

It shall be unlawful for any person to fail or refuse to identify the fact that the person is in actual possession of a concealed handgun pursuant to the authority of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act when the person first comes into contact with any law enforcement officer of this state or its political subdivisions or a federal law enforcement officer during the course of any arrest, detainment, or routine traffic stop
