I picked up a partial box of ammo labeled 'Winchester Western' in 308 win. They are 110gr soft point. Would these be too fragile for deer or are they more of a varmint round?
Yup, a properly constructed .223 bullet will get the job done. A 110 gr. .308 doesn't meet that definition. All you do is wound the animal for no good reason.A bunch of guys around here shoot deer with .223. Anything in .308 will do just fine.
