Update:

Received my tiny little plunger for the bolt latch assembly. Install went great and the gun is cycling perfectly. I recently bought an Savage 111 Trophy Hunter XP which had a Nikon scope with it. I replaced the scope with a Leatherwood 4x16x44 scope so I installed the Nikon scope on the 742.

Dang it, I just went to the range this morning to zero the new 30.06. Now I have to go back again.

An added bonus is that a good friend of mine in the refinishing business refinished the furniture while I was waiting on parts. The gun looks like brand new.
