Not trying to be difficult and after reading replies to your post, I'm assuming that you're looking for 1911-A1 model, and not a 1911?
Reason being, I know a guy with a Colt 1911 (pre-A1), from around 1918, IIRC. He may be persuaded to part with. But be forewarned, won't be cheap.
